We welcome contributions to help preserve Tommy’s legacy and get him and his Post Office Research Team properly recognised for their contributions to advances in technology that have so much impact on our lives today.
The Greater London Authority, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Power to Change and countless individuals have already kindly supported our work, allowing us to award a number of bursaries to young innovators and commission development work across industrial design, engineering, science and the arts.

Image: Lorenz machine on display at The National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park, a key partner of ours. Although never captured in wartime, this system connected Hitler’s top generals who never knew that mathematician Bill Tutte at Bletchley had cracked the code. Engineer Tommy’s Colossus computer speeded up the reading of Lorenz traffic to almost real time, facilitating the D-Day disinformation campaign, that is said by many to have curtailed World War Two in Europe by two years.
